The purpose of the meeting is to bring together high-level experts, in order to review our knowledge of CCS and its potential for closing the carbon window. The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters is a member of The European Academies' Science Advisory Council (EASAC) and EASAC has recently published the report: Negative emission technologies - What role in meeting the Paris Agreement targets? As seen from Norway, if negative emission technologies is going to work, CCS has to be in place. A key question is then as follows: does CCS really represent a technology that will be used in Europe and worldwide?
