The committee for International membership was established in 2026. 

Mandate

The committee functions as an advisory board to the Academy, a program committee for events, as well as a search committee for new international members.

The committee:
•    meets at least once per semester, typically online
•    advises the Academy on international issues
•    suggests members for boards and committees relevant for international members
•    organizes 1-2 events per year specifically for international members
•    nominates up to two new international members per class per year
•    is invited to Academy events relevant for international members

Representation
The committee consists of three international members from each class, one national member from each class, the Secretary General, and a representative from the staff as secretary of the committee. The representatives are selected such that there is diversity in terms of geography, scientific field, and gender. 
The members are elected for four years. In order to ensure both continuity and renewal, half of the committee is elected every two years. 
One of the foreign members is leader of the committee.
However, the first time around, all members of the committee are elected for two years, after which there will be a review of the committee’s work.
